Darndale/Belcamp Oblates Grants Scheme
The SSGT Darndale/Belcamp Grants Scheme is a specific initiative to support groups and organisations working with residents of the Darndale/Belcamp Parish who are affected by issues of poverty, disadvantage and social exclusion. SSGT was asked by the Oblate Congregation to administer this scheme on their behalf. The Grant Scheme runs from 2006 to 2015. The grants budget from 2012 to 2015 is €50,000 per year.
The Trust will consider the work of any organisation working with residents of Darndale and Belcamp, including organisations working with young people, older people and vulnerable adults. We have funded a large range of work in Darndale and Belcamp including literacy programmes in schools, youth work, sports, services for older people and general community development. Our annual reports list the grants we have made and they give a good insight into what type of grants are given. We also fund work with Travellers which reside adjacent to the Darndale Belcamp area.
From 2012, the maximum grant available will be €5,000, however we expect the average grant to organisations to be less than this.
