History

The Trust was set up in 1992 under a Deed of Trust with support from Porticus, the family foundation of the Dutch family, the Brenninkmeyers. They decided to use the Trust as a vehicle to support organisations working across Ireland. They remain a key funder. Since 2003, the Trust has established relationships with a range of other donors including the Daughters of the Cross of Liege, the Discalced Carmelites, the Oblate Fathers and the four Provinces of the Sisters of Mercy. The full list of donors is included in our audited accounts.
